🌊 Little Bubbles Swim Stars

Parent Information Sheet – Swim Wales Outcomes

At Little Bubbles Swim Stars, we follow the Swim Wales “Learn to Swim” Wave Outcomes (see attached). These outcomes cover a wide range of skills – not just distance badges.

Many parents think that metres badges are the most important outcomes , but in reality, they are only a very small part of the programme (just 1 to 4 outcomes in each Wave). The majority of outcomes focus on strokes, technique, confidence, safety skills and water-based knowledge.

🏊 Why This Matters

We work diligently throughout the year to ensure that every child progresses through the Swim Wales framework at their own pace. Our lessons are carefully structured and follow a scheme of work each week to provide continuity and consistency.

This means that every lesson has purpose – whether it’s perfecting a streamlined push and glide, learning safe entries, practising floating, or improving the quality of a stroke.

---

⏱ Lesson Time – Perspective

Each of our swimmers attends just one 30-minute lesson per week during term time. Across a year, this adds up to around 16 hours of swimming lessons in total.

When you think about what your child achieves in those 16 hours – from building confidence, developing lifesaving skills, improving technique and earning badges – it really is something to celebrate.

---

🌟 What We Celebrate

Confidence in and around the water

Strong, safe swimming technique

Strokes that meet national standards

Lifesaving and safety skills (HELP position, floating, rescues)

Achieving Swim Wales Wave Outcomes – not just distance

💬 Our Message to Parents

We are proud of every swimmer’s progress – whether they achieve a distance badge, master a new stroke, or gain confidence jumping in. Every skill is an achievement worth celebrating.

By working together through the Swim Wales Outcomes, your child is not only working towards metres badges, but also building the essential skills that make them safe, confident, lifelong swimmers.

---

✨ Thank you for supporting your child’s swimming journey. We are so proud of what our swimmers and teachers achieve in such a short time each year – it truly is amazing!
